Financing Europe’s push for energy security - Trade finance case study
Federated Hermes was part of a lending consortium involved in a more than US$1bn loan facility signed with a European oil and gas group to finance drilling in Danish waters. The pricing of the transaction was also linked to various ESG KPIs. This built-in ESG component gave the borrower an incentive to keep a check on its CO2.
